Rare Anna Eicher sterling silver hand-wrought mug in Arts & Crafts style, with an elegant, geometric design, made in the early 20th century. It measures 2 7/8'' in height by 2 7/8'' in diameter at the top, weighs 3.6 troy ounces, and bears hallmarks as shown.

Arts & Crafts style silver known to have been made by women is rare and Anna Eicher's work is particularly so. Anna Eicher was active in Park Ridge IL in the 1900s to 1920s. Her husband worked as a silversmith for the prestigious Kalo Shop, which was the "leading maker" of Arts and Crafts movement silver in Chicago. The shop and affiliated Kalo Arts and Crafts Community House, a practicing school and workshop noted for silver and jewelry in nearby Park Ridge, Illinois, were founded in 1900 by a group of six young women who had trained at the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago. Today, some of this firm’s products belong to the collections of highly revered museums, such as the Cooper Hewitt and Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York as well as the Art Institute of Chicago.
