Wilkinson & Co., pair of English sterling silver shell dishes, made in Sheffield in 1872 during the Victorian era.  Exquisitely crafted and standing on 3 snail legs, they measure 5'' in length by 5'' in width by 2'' in height, weigh 9.5 troy ounces, and bear hallmarks as shown. 


Wilkinson & Co. was a maker established in Sheffield since at least 1831. Various pieces of its production were successfully exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851. Since the 1850s,  Henry Wilkinson & Co was active in London. In 1892 the business was bought by Walker & Hall. Walker & Hall was an important English silversmith established in Sheffield in 1845 by George Walker.
